Hi, I’m Angie West.
I’m a mixed media artist, retired physical therapist, and two-time stem cell transplant recipient. Artful Recovery Studio grew out of an unexpected season of my life when creativity became more than a hobby—it became part of my healing.
After being diagnosed with a rare T-cell lymphoma in 2021, I discovered collage through classes at Northside Hospital’s Cancer Support Community. What began as a way to process difficult emotions gradually became a creative practice that continues to bring meaning, curiosity, and joy.
Today, I create intuitive collage and mixed media artwork, sometimes with a story to tell and sometimes simply for the love of creating. Through this website, I share my artwork, reflections on recovery, and occasional stories from more than 30 years as a physical therapist.
When I’m not making art, you’ll usually find me with my husband, our rescue dog Lucy, spending time with our two grown children, or planning the next adventure.
Whether you’re here because of art, illness, recovery, or simple curiosity, I’m glad you stopped by. I hope you find something here that encourages you to keep creating, healing, and moving forward.
Thanks for visiting Artful Recovery Studio. I hope you’ll stay awhile, explore the galleries, and follow along as this creative journey continues.
— Angie
