A Difference of Opinion.

I had read that you don’t always need a “purpose” when doing collage. It can just be spontaneous, which is what I was striving for here. I liked the girl’s sunglasses and thought adding the playing card was fun. The flower petal was really supposed to be more of her body rather than coming from her mouth. The brown thing on the right was just a scrap I had lying around, and I added it. I added splatter paint because it was fun.

My therapist always sees things I don’t see. Her thoughts were quite different from mine. The sunglasses could be shielding me from all I’ve been through. She sees the whole collage as being restrictive. The flower petal is silencing the woman, and the brown thing on the right looks like a “corset” or something that would cinch me tight. The Joker is all the ridiculous health trauma I’ve dealt with. The little birds are hopeful that I will continue to make progress and feel freer. I added the splatter paint after I showed her the collage — because life is messy!

I did all the printing/painting for the paper. I’m learning a new technique. Once I’ve mastered it, I’ll share it with you.

As far as I go, I got very good PET scan results; I continue to be in complete remission. I will start to wean off some of my medication. At 9 months post-transplant, it’s amazing how well I have done. I’m excited about things I have coming up. Stay warm. Angie
