“Blue Jean Baby”

This collage-and-watercolor combo was so fun to make. I made the collage at night, about 4-5:00 am, when I couldn’t sleep. I decided to get up and do something productive and fun. I loosely followed the rule of doing an even number of neutral pieces and then one other color, in this case, blue. I really liked the image of the young girl with the guitar, so I tried to match the blue in her overalls.

Since I had a whole blank page opposite the collage, I decided to try an abstract watercolor that somewhat matched it. Besides watercolor, I used oil pastels to add accents.

Below is a layout of the two together.

I should call this, “A Cure for Insomnia” haha. Instead, I’ll stick with “Blue Jean Baby” (John). What do you do when you can’t sleep at night? Do you get up and read or do something (sometimes I’ll work on a puzzle)? Angie
