I love Autumn! Is there any other season that is better?! I love October. I love Halloween.
Before I got sick, I always decorated the front of our house for Halloween. Lanterns in the trees, a cemetery in the yard, and pumpkins on the porch. It has been several years since I have been well enough to do so, but I went all out this year. It was so much fun. I felt like I was really living my life without thinking.
I haven’t made an actual collage in some time. I have been doing a lot of technical work on my website and rewarded myself with something fun.
In August, while pulling images for a different project, I came across quite a few Autumn pieces. I saved them for later and forgot about them until tonight.

I love everything about this piece. I know there is a lot to look at, especially at the bottom. I was told it was a little busy. If you’ve looked at previous collages, they tend to be busy, haha. Most everything is self-explanatory, but I’ll share a few things. I knew I wanted to make more than just one, and if I made two, I knew I would bisect it. Was the decision going to be horizontal or vertical?
Because the fir trees were mirror images of each other, it was easy to go horizontal. I love how the trees turned out, and the boots too.
One main item that probably sticks out is the wristwatch. I chose it because fall is my favorite time of year, and it reminds me to stay present and not take my current good health for granted! On a side note, it is also a nod to “Conrad” from the series TSITP; if ykyk 😂 I just got done watching and re-watching it, and that character wears an actual watch similar to this one, which stands out because everyone seems to wear Apple Watches these days.
I’ve mentioned this before, but I love flowers–all kinds and colors. I probably don’t have a single collage I’ve made without flowers in it. The woman looks peaceful as she’s in the field, and that’s how I feel in Autumn.
Lastly, are the words. I found these in a book describing a fall wedding. I took what I liked and made it into my own poem.
So, other than that, there isn’t much more meaning, except that it’s meant to be a warm hug.
What’s your favorite season? For many, it’s probably the holidays and New Year’s. Angie
