Collage Art.

February 2026.

The collages on these two pages are techniques I learned in a class, “6 Collages in 60 Minutes.” This was hectic, but a lot of fun to try something different. Cuneiform: (top left) grid of 4 quadrants. I tried to have a harmonious color scheme. Landscape: (bottom left) background, middle ground, foreground. Color palette: (top right) Use all the same or similar shades of the same color. I chose black and white. Strata: (middle right) neutral papers. No scissors–tear like layers of the ground. Focal point: (bottom right) Choose a focal image and then make triangles pointing to the focal image. The best part of this was that there was no time to think things through, really. The other images are pieces from a collage that I started a year ago. The background is on what is called “tea bag” paper. It’s thinner than tissue paper. I added paint, which adds texture to the collage as a whole.
