I Will Succeed. Today.

I didn’t intend to have two collages related: “Succession” and “I Will Succeed. Today.” However, even though they sound similar, the meaning is different. “Succession” is referring to what is next in my journey and that will most likely be an allogenic transplant. “I Will Succeed. Today.” is more related to me trying to make it through each day. I don’t really feel worried or anxious necessarily with what is to come as far as treatment goes. Any uneasiness I feel is related to how it will affect the people in my life. My instinct is to try to find an inpatient program so I can truly focus on myself.

Today I was thinking about the following verses in Matthew: “Matthew 6:26-27 New American Standard Bible –“Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?”

In this card, the otters are in the middle of the water, unconcerned with how they will get back to the ground or find something to eat. Likewise, the eagle sitting on a glacier in a remote area of the world is also unbothered by his surroundings. The bees are in a somewhat different scenario. They do not know they are endangered, and unfortunately, they unknowingly rely on an unreliable being to save them: man. Meanwhile, man needs the bees to survive. The praying mantis is another example, this time an insect, of a creature that God is taking care of.

TRY, TRY AGAIN…

AND YOU WILL SUCCEED!

The girl with the hula hoop reminds me of being a kid, and trying something new and fun and knowing that if you try hard enough you will master it. The feet in the air in the waves is similar. I can remember trying to learn how to do a hand stand in the pool becasue my older sister could do it. Eventually I was successful.

The people in the rain with the umbrellas are stressed that they will get wet, forgetting the promise that the rainbow is coming. The silhouette on the right is a fan whose team is victorious. He’s enjoying the win right now. He’s not thinking about the rest of the season. The statue, to me, looks like a trophy. I know that whatever happens, my trophy is life, either here on earth or in heaven.

Finally, the Japanese lanterns represent a symbol of hope and safety. They remind us to remember and pray for the deceased and to bring peace and luck to the living. This gives me thoughts of my Dad, whom I miss so much.

What do you give me? Remember, there is peace in the journey. You must remain steadfast all the steps of the way. What do you want from me? Remember, you are much more important to God than these creatures, and he cares for them. They don’t “worry”. they know they are provided for. And you are, too! Angie
