“Comfort”

1/16/2025.

I’ve had more anxiety and uncertainty lately as treament looms. And, I’ve had to deal with a lot of outside noise (ie stress from others in my family). So, today I decided to to a card of things that bring me comfort. Everything is pretty self-explanatory but I’ll point out a few things. The Varsity reminds me of when I was a kid living in Peachtree City. My dad would take me to the Varsity. I can hear him now mimicing the iconic “whatyahave, whatyahave” call from the employees behind the bar. He loved things like that. To go along with the varsity (onion rings, cheeseburgers and FO’s!) you have to have a cold Coke! No Pepsi for this girl!! The little pig in the bottom also reminds me of my childhood. I don’t know why but I collected all kinds of Pig collectibles. Not sure why other than maybe it’s because my sister collected panda bears and I so wanted to be like her. The adidas are a nod to my new found self and trying to wear things and “try on” activities that are out of my comfort zone. I got green ones with pink stripes for Christmas and I love them! Previously I never would have considered wearing something like that. I love the words: be comfy, be cozy, be rested, be well. I hope that I can remember those words while I’m going through treatment. Remember it’s all about me this time.

What do you give me? All of these things should give you comfort and should let you know you can reach back to those times and memories to help you in the present. What do you want from me? Try to to get too stressed. Try to stay Comfortable! So you can rest and Be Well!
